Hitchin Karate Club
The Hitchin karate club is run by Sensei Angus Pearson (5th Dan) and Sensei Paul Grimsey (6th Dan). The club was started in September 2000 and now has over 40 members both junior and adult. Sensei Pearson always welcomes new students and any ESKA member looking to enhance their training. Either turn up at a training session and join in or contact us for more information.
We now offer two training sessions a week – Saturdays and Wednesdays. Our dojo is at Hitchin Boys School, where we train in the gym on Saturday morning (9.30-11.30am). We also run a training session on Wednesday evening at St Johns Community Centre (6.45-8.45pm). We are a family friendly martial arts club.
We are part of ESKA (English Shotokan Karate Association) whose Hombu is based at the Stevenage Leisure Centre.
19.3.20 Coronavirus update: In keeping with the government’s advice that all schools should close, we have been advised by ESKA that Hitchin Karate Club should take similar action to help reduce the spread of Covid 19. We will keep you informed as and when the situation changes. We wish all of our students and their families the very best, and hope you all stay safe and well.
Next grading: Unfortunately the grading on Sunday 29th March has been postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
